Project Overview

 

The Nanjing Xinshengwei Yangtze River Bridge has a total length of approximately 13.17 kilometers and a main span of 1760 meters. It is designed as a single span portal double tower suspension bridge and will become the first domestic and third world's largest span suspension bridge after completion. The main tower of the bridge has a height of 263.8 meters, equivalent to the height of an 88 story building. Its exterior "N" - shaped steel structure design is inspired by the first letter of Nanjing's abbreviation "Ning", highlighting the unique cultural characteristics of the city.

 

Night lighting project

 

The completion of the night lighting project has made the bridge feel like a light strip crossing the Yangtze River as night falls, bringing a visual feast to the citizens of Nanjing. The colorful lights decorate the entire bridge in a more modern and dreamy way, exuding irresistible charm whether viewed from afar or up close.

 

Construction significance

 

As an important transportation hub connecting the main urban area of Jiangnan in Nanjing with Jiangbei New Area, the completion of the bridge will greatly shorten the travel time from Qixia Avenue to Jiangbei New Area, reducing it from 1 hour to 10 minutes, greatly enhancing the ability of the Yangtze River trunk line to cross the river and improving the regional road network system. In addition, the night lighting project of the bridge not only enhances the beauty of the city, but also strengthens citizens' sense of identity and belonging to the city, becoming a new popular check-in point in Nanjing.
